We're Going on a Bear Hunt is the theme of a storytime taking place at South Tyneside Libraries on the 16th July 2008 to mark National Make a Noise in Libraries Fortnight. Now in its seventh year, this annual campaign aims to bring public libraries and blind and partially sighted people together to improve access to books and information.

The storytime is aimed at 5-8 year olds who are blind and partially sighted. It will take the children through Michael Rosen's classic children's book. By using a range of props including water, gloop and ice the children will be able to feel the sounds being described in the text. The session also incorporates a hand painting activity.

The storytime is an opportunity to consult the children, parents and carers about what they would like from the library and sign them up for the Summer Reading Challenge.
