Key audiences

Gloucestershire's Early Years practitioners.


To promote books and reading to EY practitioners to enable them to take this best practice back to their settings.

About the sessions

Three training sessions were offered to the county's Early years practitioners, to encourage use of books with children in Early Years settings, providing practical ideas and inspiration as well as suggested book lists. LSE's services were also promoted.

Qualitative and/or quantitative evidence of impact

The course was delivered three times and each had a maximum number of people wanting to attend - a total of 120 practitioners benefited from attending the course.

Project delivery

The project was funded by DCSF, but run in Gloucestershire by Library Services for Education with some input from the Early Years services and Libraries & Information.
